Karatoichiba(唐戸市場) / Karato market

 

I think you arrive at Shimonoseki station as usual.
So, you take a bus to go to Karato market!

Ride a buss to "唐戸（Karato）" in 7 min
You can pay by IC card (iccoca, suica, nimoca and etc.)

The Karato ichiba, famous for fish, You can enjoy eating sashimi.
Especialy you can eat whale.

 

Also, I really like food Fugu karaage(Fried Pufferfish)
Fried puffer fish was served at school lunch in elementary school.
This food is very good!

You have to care about open hours
5:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday to Saturday
8:00 am to 3:00 pm Sundays and holidays

Especially, this food market(Lively Bankasai Market)
10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Friday, Saturday
8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Sunday, National Holidays

Kamon Wharf

 

After enjoying at food, You should go to Kamon Wharf.
Kamon Wharf is next to Karato market.

At Kamo Wharf, you can enjoy a good experience walking on wooden pathways.

Crafted walkways offer a charming atmosphere that sets you at ease.

As you wander along, the wooden textures underfoot create a comforting sensation.
While walking, you can see the sea.

Kanmon Tunnel Footpath

You should go to Kanmon Tunnel Footpath.

This tunnel is connecting from Shimonoseki to Moji (Fukuoka).
You can go from Kamon Wharf for a walk.

I was surprised it is free entry on the walk.
Even if you ride bicycles and motor bicycles , the entrance fee is only 20 yen!!

What should they do only using 20yen lol

The path takes 15min. It is not a long way.
In the morning, some people are running for their health 😆

At the end, You can see the shrine and see the coast by Shimonoseki's side.

Akama Jingu

It is getting dark, You should go to Alama Jingu.

It is a very historical shrine and an Instagrammable spot.

My friend is the wife of the priest😂

It can be seen in the sea also. So you can take a nice photo there!

 

Uzu house

If you communicate with local people, you stay uzu house.
It is a guest house and a good location!

Its hotel faces the sea, so you can have a relaxing tea while looking at the sea.

You can feel Shimonoseki time😂

Also, the hotel has a cafe and a common space.
That's why  you can interact with local people.

 

 

Come to shimonoseki

Shimonoseki is nice place if you feel nature and curture.

Also, I highly recommend you if you like a calm place.
This city is local, there are many old people living there.

You feel sometimes nothing, but you feell sometime time is slow.
